The perpetrators, who were accused of "coming together, to carry out illegal action against foreigners and migrants," were temporarily released by the Prosecutor of the Lesbos Criminal Court on Friday, according to the official police statement. The case will be reconsidered at a hearing in January 2021.
The seven are accused of breaking anti-racism legislation and forming a criminal organization.
The perpetrators, aged 17-24, are of Greek, Albanian and Bulgarian origin.
According to witnesses, last week, a group of 10-15 young people which were hiding their faces were walking door-to-door in the village of Moria with sticks in their hands, knocking on the door of the houses and asking if NGO employees or asylum seekers were living there or not.
