ABTTF President: “The newly established Development Organisation of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace should take into account the Turkish community in Western Thrace in all the studies to be carried out on the implementation of the development policy in our region, and Turkish producers and enterprises should not be excluded in the distribution of investment and development incentives.”
In a statement delivered by the Eastern Macedonia-Thrace Regional (EMT) Presidency, it was reported that the Development Organisation of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace was established.
The statement indicated that the aim of the Development Organisation of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, which was established with the approval of the EMT Economic Commission and the Board of Directors of the EMT Regional Development Fund which is headquartered in Komotini is to provide scientific, technical and consultative support to the EMT and local units in the preparation of studies such as improving public services and managing European Union (EU) programmes for the implementation of development policy in all areas under their authority.
“It is of great importance that the development policy is implemented urgently and that everyone is treated equally while doing so, especially in our region, where serious economic issues are experienced as a result of the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. At this point, the newly established Development Organisation of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace should take into account the Turkish community in Western Thrace in all the studies to be carried out on the implementation of the development policy in our region, and Turkish producers and enterprises should not be excluded in the distribution of investment and development incentives’’, said Halit Habip Oğlu, President of the Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF).
