17.02.2015
ABTTF President Halit Habip Oğlu: “No matter which religion or nation it is committed against, terrorism can have no legitimate cause. No reason can justify these attacks.”

An armed attack was carried out to a cafe in Copenhagen where there was a meeting on the freedom of expression and the attacks to Charlie Hebdo in France. Masked and armed aggressors started shooting at the cafe on 14 February 2015 and killed the Danish film director Finn Norgaard. There were also 3 policemen wounded. In the evening of the same day, the attacker targeted this time a synagogue causing one Danish citizen with Jewish origin, Dan Uzan losing his life and 2 police offi-cers having been wounded. The police forces identified the attacker and surrounded him the next day. He was shot dead following his attempt to open a fire to police forces.

Commenting on this severe attack in Copenhagen, Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF)’s President Halit Habip Oğlu stated: “We were shocked and got saddened when we heard about this terrorist attack in Copenhagen last weekend. We deeply condemn these aggressions. No matter which religion or nation it is committed against, terrorism can have no legitimate causes. No reason can justify these attacks. We declare our sympathy and share the grievances of Danish people and wish a quick recovery to those wounded.”
