Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) Visit to European Parliament

Halit Habipoğlu, chairman of Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF), and Engin Soyyılmaz, ABTTF Director of International Relations, visited European Parliament and met Günther Dauwen, Director of European Freedom Alliance and Ozan Ceyhun, Brussel Representative of Hessen Province of Germany.

The first meeting was held with Günther Dauwen, Director of European Freedom Alliance and top issues on the agenda were introduction problems of Western Thrace Turkish Minority members to the international public and graping the attention of European Parliament to the repressive minority policy of Greece.

Halit Habipoğlu informed Dauwen about the problems of Western Thrace Turkish Minority and the works of ABTTF, volunteer representative of the Western Thrace Minority members in Europe. Günther Dauwen showed sincere interest to the issues and expressed their will to do their best.

ABTTF Representatives also met Ozan Ceyhun and presented the works of ABTTF, telling their effects on international platforms as well. Meanwhile, it was also conveyed that ABTTF’s membership to FUEN (Federal Union of European Nationalities) was realized as of last month.

ABTTF is a very well known Federation on international platforms

Halit Habipoğlu made a press release regarding the visit and stated that long lasting efforts paid off and ABTTF become a very well known federation. In the press release, it was underlined that minorities were cultural wealth of the societies and in that sense, ABTTF’s international works would centre in Brussel.

ABTTF Representatives presented Newsletter in four languages (Turkish, German, Greek and English) and other works regarding the problems of Western Thrace Turkish Minority members.
