Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF), in partnership with Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association (WTMUGA) and Greek Helsinki Monitor (GHM) are organising a panel entitled ‘The Problem of Execution of ECtHR Judgments in Greece: Bekir Ousta and Others Group of Cases’ on 25 February 2021.
The execution process of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) regarding the Bekir Ousta and Others group of cases will be discussed during the online event.
During the panel, the non-implementation by Greece of the judgments of the Court regarding the non-registration of the Cultural Association of Turkish Women in the Prefecture of Rodopi and the Evros Prefecture Minority Youth Association that had been founded by members of the Turkish community in Western Thrace and the application they had made along with the dissolved Turkish Union of Xanthi to the ECtHR with the aim of defending the view that there is an ethnic Turkish minority in Greece and where the Court had ruled that the right to freedom of association (Article 11) had been violated will be discussed.
The Chair of the Cultural Association of Turkish Women in the Prefecture of Rodopi, Hülya Emin will make a keynote speech on behalf of the Bekir Ousta and Others group of cases.
