Strasbourg, 16.11.2004 - The fight against racism and xenophobia will be the
main theme of a round table organised by the European Commission against
Racism and Intolerance of the Council of Europe (ECRI), in the framework of
its programme of action on reinforcing relations with civil society, on
Thursday 18 November in Athens.
ECRI's report on Greece, the fight against racism and xenophobia in the
public sphere, national legislation to combat racism and racial
discrimination, and the situation of immigrants in Greece are all on the
agenda for the meeting, in which experts, government representatives and
victims of discrimination will take part.
The round table, which is open to the press, will be held from 9.30 am to
6.30 pm on Thursday 18 November at Titania Hotel (52 Panepistimiou Street,
Athens).
