3 Turkish deputies in the Greek Parliament: Ahmet Hacıosman, Ayhan Karayusuf and Hüseyin Zeybek

In Sunday’s elections, Turkish Minority of Western Thrace elected 3 Turkish candidates and succeeded to send them to the Parliament. Hüseyin Zeybek has been elected MP for Xanthi from SYRIZA, and Ahmet Hacıosman has been PASOK Rhodope MP and Ayhan Karayusuf has been SYRIZA Rhodope MP.

Halit Habipoğlu, President of the Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe(ABTTF), said that, “ On behalf of the Management Board and Western Thrace Turks living in Europe, I congratulate our three Turkish parliamentarians. I hope that hard times when the coalition government could not be formed after the early general elections on 6 May will remain behind with the formation of a new coalition government. However, on behalf of our Minority, I would like to express our concern that extreme rightist Golden Dawn, which has a strong discourse against the Turkish Minority, kept its vote rate and entered the Greek Parliament.”.
