ABTTF strongly condemns attacks in Norway

The Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) strongly condemns the terrorist attacks exercised by an extreme right-wing assailant on 22 July 2011 in Norway, in which many innocent people lost their lives and were wounded. ABTTF expresses its heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families and to the people of Norway.

As Western Thrace Turks living in various European countries, we are deeply concerned about the rise of extreme right in Europe. No cause or political goal justifies weapons against innocent people. Multiculturalism provides the basis of Europe. Any action against multiculturalism threatens the peace and harmony prevailing in the European continent. ABTTF is opposed to all kinds of idea which see the multicultural structure of society in Europe as a threat, and advocates tolerance and mutual understanding which are of key importance for the future of Europe.
