The hearing of the claim for damages filed by ABTTF against the news site newsbreak.gr, which published defamatory and false news about the Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) in 2021, was held in Athens on 9 November 2023.

ABTTF President: “The fight against racism and racial discrimination is of urgent importance, and steps should be taken in this regard, not in words but in substance. Indeed, as we always say it, while our country’s rulers are trying to create another reality to cover up the systematic discrimination our community has been subjected to for years, the situation in our region is the exact opposite. One of the clearest examples of this is the lawsuit filed for the revocation of the registration of the Western Thrace Fenerbahçe Association, which is today only a sports club supporters’ association, and the racist statements made on this subject’’.

The President and the Vice Presidents of the Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) were elected as a result of the elections held at the 21st Ordinary General Assembly meeting held in Giessen, Germany on 23 October 2021, within the framework of measures implemented to combat the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
